Great Wrap FAQs
Gym junkie strong, my friend! When set up correctly, Great Wrap can achieve the same or better load containment than traditional plastic wrap... while using less wrap! It has a higher bulk density than traditional stretch wrap, resulting in a very strong and durable product.
This pallet wrap is made with compostable biopolymers and PBAT. Even cooler, in future Great Wrap are working on making the wrap with a 100% bio-based material called PHA, which is not only home compostable but marine degradable too! Stay tuned, folks.
The pallet wrap we stock is suitable for securing pallets up to 500kg. If you need something a little stronger in bulk quantities or something for a wrapping machine, get in touch and we can organise that!
Great Wrap is 100% compostable, add it straight into an industrial compost and it will break down within 180 days.
If you don't, the next best option is through your regular waste stream. While the break down time is longer than in organic recycling, it still surpasses traditional plastic stretch wrap in landfills by decomposing much faster, and it won't leave microplastics behind.
The yellow-tinted wrap is a nifty addition - simply making it easier for the end receiver to differentiate between Great Wrap and traditional pallet wrap in their supply chain.
The yellow additive is made from natural plant fibers and is 100% compostable. When a pallet is wrapped, it closely resembles traditional pallet wrap with a subtle yellow tint. The yellow colour becomes noticeable when you remove the wrap from the pallet, and when it's on the roll.
- Once your pallet is stacked, grab your Compostable Hand Pallet Wrap and tie it to a corner on the pallet base
- Begin hand wrapping the bottom of your pallet by walking around the pallet — do this step a few times to ensure your load is stable
- Gradually work your way up and around your pallet load. Make sure there is some resistance, but try not to over-stretch the wrap
- Tear your wrap once you've finished, and tuck or tie the top corner
You can if you want — Great Wrap fits standard hand pallet wrap dispensers, but you don’t need one. It’s designed to work just as well by hand.
