Using 89% less plastic than a traditional pen, I'm the ball point Ernest Hemingway wished he owned. This pen may be the gateway you needed to feverishly write your magnum opus. Or, at the very least, seriously legible post-it notes.

Putting figure skaters to shame, I'll glide over your paper with my smooth, non-toxic, water-based ink. I'm made from rolled recycled kraft paper, meaning no trees were harmed in my creation. And once you've written all the shopping lists you could want, you can just recycle or compost me.

Disposal Instructions
Once your Ecopen has been used up:
  1. Snap the pen in half.
  2. Separate the plastic ink tube and metal nib from the paper.
  3. Pop the paper body in the compost or recycling bin.
  4. Ink tube and metal nib can only go in the recycling bin!

    Pretty good

    I've enjoyed these pens - got a pack as a gift, and then bought some more packs to give to others as gift. Only thing is that the ink runs out much quicker than other pens.

Ecopen FAQs

When it comes to ink and environmental-friendliness, it's complicated. To be perfectly honest, there isn't a completely sustainable ink on the market in Australia at the moment. We're always researching to provide the best option that we can, and for these pens, we've landed on water-based ink. When this kind of ink dries, it releases almost zero toxins into the air (a huge difference from other inks).

Our Ecopens are! They're made from recycled material, and every part of the body is compostable or recyclable (but read our instructions on how to safely dispose of them).

Our paper pens are made from rolled recycled kraft paper.

Not really, unless you removed each part and the hard plastic casing. So unless you want to get real techy with your writing implements, we recommend an eco-friendly pen.

Only the paper body is! The ink tube and metal nib can go in the recycling bin.
