Mac TSC Printer Setup

Hey legends! This guide is for Mac users to set up your TSC Printer. Our Mac installer does everything in one go: the driver, your HeapsGood label sizes and adding your printer. It works on every Mac, Intel or Apple chip (M1 and newer), including the latest macOS.

Get set up in about 2 minutes

Download the Mac installer

Before you start:

  • Printer on and plugged in
  • Connected to the internet
  • Mac password or TouchID

Step 1: Download your drivers

  • Click the Download the Mac installer button above.
  • The installer will save to your Downloads folder.

Step 2: Install the application

  • From your Downloads folder, double click on the HeapsGood-TSC-Driver-Installer.pkg file.

Getting this error? Don't worry, this is totally normal for third-party apps!

To bypass this:

  • Click Done.
  • Go to System Settings, then Privacy & Security. Handy shortcut: search for 'Privacy & Security' via Spotlight in the top right corner of your screen.
  • Scroll all the way down until you reach the 'Security' section.
  • Select 'Open Anyway' as circled below, and confirm with your password or TouchID.

  • The installer should launch automatically. If it doesn't, double click on the .pkg file in your Downloads folder once more.
  • Click Continue and then the Install button.
  • Installer requires your user authentication to install the application. This is either your username and password (the same as your login), or if you have TouchID enabled, just use your finger!
  • Newer Macs download a small Apple component during the install, so stay connected to the internet.

Step 3: Check your printer

  • When you see "You're ready to print", the installation is complete.
  • Your printer should now be fully installed and showing in your printer list as HG TSC Printer. Too easy!

Step 4: Test print your label!

  • Use your preferred courier company from your web browser or any other application.
  • Select HG TSC Printer. Your Paper Size is already set to HG 1 Shipping Ecolabel, with the rest of our HG label sizes listed right below it.

  • IMPORTANT: You may also need to adjust the settings in your courier companies platform. Ensure your label size is set to A6. See the MyPost business example below.

Handy tips: Installing your labels

1. Remove the sticker from the label roll and unravel the roll a little bit, so the labels are on the top (you should be able to see the printed labels as they come out of the printer). Use your thumb to pull the right side away, making space to install the roll.

2. Place the roll inside, with the label facing up towards you.

3. Close the lid firmly with part of the first label sticking out.

4. Push the feed button on the lid (the button on top of the printer). The machine will detect the label size, and move to the start of the next label.

Technical FAQs

Good news, all the label sizes we sell are already set up for you. When you print, just pick the matching HG size under Paper Size. For our free Canva templates and design tips, head to our DIY Ecolabels guide here.

Make sure your printer is plugged in and turned on, then run the Mac installer again from Step 1 above. It'll add your printer automatically.

  • Step 1: Your print may be too light or dark. Check your darkness settings by clicking here for a step by step guide. 
  • Step 2: Are you using a new roll of labels? The first few labels may have been exposed to too much light, or adhesive from the production sticker will impact print. Remove the first few labels and test again.

This is likely a connection issue between your computer and USB port. If possible, we recommend testing your USB adaptor with another device to ensure it's working.

This most likely depends on the program used to open the file. On Mac, we recommend using the Preview app.

After an operating system update, you may need to re-install the Driver. Head back to Step 1 above and follow the guide.
